The use of the spelling NOVINGER, instead of NABINGER, began in the United States in the early 1700’s by the descendants of Theobald (Dewalt) Nabinger. The NABINGER spelling is still used by the Family in Germany and by the descendants who immigrated to the United States without changing the spelling. Novinger, Missouri, is a small town in Northeastern Missouri. My ancestor moved to this area in the mid 1800's and the town of Novinger was built on his farm.
